Designed for emerging litigators, this program offers a high-level overview of the litigation process from start to finish. Nicole Smith (Langdon & Emison, LLC) will guide attendees through essential phases of a case—including intake, filing, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation—while sharing practical insights and strategies to help new attorneys develop the confidence and competence to manage their first cases effectively.

Nicole Smith is a Partner at Langdon & Emison, LLC, where she handles a range of product liability and personal injury cases. A National Trial Lawyers “40 Under 40” honoree, Nicole brings extensive experience in case management, discovery, and trial preparation. She began her career clerking for state appellate and county judges and remains active in the legal community through the KCMBA, AWL of Greater Kansas City, and other professional organizations. Nicole earned her J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law, where she served on the Kansas Journal of Law & Public Policy.

This session will be submitted for 1.0 hour of CLE credit in Missouri and Kansas. Kansas credit is pending.
